Santa Cruz Sexual Battery

SANTA CRUZ, Calif.--On January, 11, 2013 at approximately 2:30 PM, the victim was walking home from school in the 500 block of Walnut Avenue. The suspect approached the victim from behind and grabbed her buttocks. The suspect continued past the victim and ran away when she confronted him. The victim is a 12 year old female from Santa Cruz. The victim did not sustain any physical injures as a result of the attack.

The suspect was seen the area a second time just after the initial attack. A witness took a picture of the suspect as he fled up a flight of stairs leading to Grover Lane and Towne Terrace. Several officers flooded the area in hopes of locating the suspect. He was not located. We are hopeful someone will recognize the suspect and report this information to the police department.

The victim provided a detailed description of the suspect. Officers will be posting flyers in the area warning of the suspect and asking for help with identifying him.

Last seen wearing brown T-shirt, black Dickie style pants, wire-rimmed glasses
