Santa Cruz Police Investigate 2 Vehicle Arsons

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Santa Cruz Police are investigating two separate vehicle fires that happened Tuesday, January 8th and Wednesday January 9th. The two vehicles involved were a 1998 BMW 540 and a 1996 Chevy Suburban.

The Santa Cruz Fire Department says both fires were set intentionally, and the cars were significantly damaged.

The BMW was allegedly set on fire in the 500 block of Walnut Avenue around 11:30 PM on January 8th. Witnesses saw two suspects fleeing the scene.

The Suburban was allegedly set on fire in the 200 block of Button Street around 7:30 PM on January 9th. Witnesses saw only one suspect in this incident.

Right now, the Santa Cruz Police Department is processing evidence and is trying to see if the two cases are connected.
