Water Authority To Discuss Paying Financial Consultant For Desal - Central Coast News KION/KCBA

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. -- On Thursday night, the Monterey Peninsula Regional Water Authority will discuss paying a financial consultant up to $25,000 to look into a possible desal project.

After the board discusses the desal project, it'll have a special meeting to discuss adding Monterey County to the Water Authority.

34 percent of CalAm ratepayers in Monterey County would be affected by decisions made by the Water Authority.

They're looking into whether they have the authority to make the addition.
