Residents Going Back Home Following Deadly Upstate NY Fire

Posted: Updated:

WEBSTER, NY -- New information tonight about the firefighter shooting in upstate New York.

Authorities started letting Webster residents back in their homes on Christmas Day, according to local media.

This comes just one day after investigators said 62-year-old William Spengler shot four firefighters, killing two of them, after setting an early-morning fire.

That destroyed seven homes and damaged two others.

Spengler's body was found near his home and investigators said the ex-convict shot and killed himself.

The fire destroyed seven homes and damaged two others.
