SALINAS, Calif. -- Hundreds of homeless people in Salinas were treated to a Christmas dinner on Tuesday.
It's a yearly tradition at Dorothy's Place and this year dozens of volunteers served everything from ham and turkey to mashed potatoes and dessert.
Dorothy's Place said it's a way to help the homeless feel special when many of them aren't able to see their family.
"All of our guests we love them so much. We really try to give them a place where they can feel loved," said Rachel LeQuire of Dorothy's Place.
The staff said it was a good turnout with more than 200 hundred homeless people stopping by to eat.
