Afghan Policewoman Kills US Adviser in Kabul - Central Coast News KION/KCBA

KABUL, Afghanistan -- A woman in an Afghan police uniform shot and killed an American adviser at the Kabul Police Headquarters Monday morning, according to authorities.

Officials confirm the victim was a civilian contractor, but have not released a name. They say this is the first time a female member of Afghanistan security forces has fired at a NATO soldier.

More than fifty international troops have been killed by Afghan soldiers or police this year. A number of other assaults, insider attacks as they are know, are still under investigation.
