Salinas Police Investigating Car Jacking, Kidnapping

SALINAS, Calif. -- Salinas Police say a 20-year-old man was sitting in his car when he was carjacked on Friday evening.

Officers say it happened in the Burger King parking lot on S. Sanborn Road around 5:47 p.m.

Police said said the victim was sitting in his gray 1994 Nissan Sentra when the suspect knocked at his window and pointed a rifle at him.

The suspect ordered the victim out of his car, then struck him in the face with the butt of the rifle, police said.

Officers said the suspect drove off, dropping the victim off at the corner of John Street and Sanborn Road.

The victim suffered a minor injury to his face, and walked back to the Burger King and borrowed a phone to call police.

Here is the suspect's description: Hispanic male, 20's, 5'3, 140, black hoodie, and jeans, with a black hat.
