Salinas Police Searching for Shoplifter and Getaway Accomplice

SALINAS, Calif. - Police looking for a woman who shoplifted hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise from Kohl's Department store and the man who helped her get away.

According to Police, Friday night a female adult, went into Kohl's and shoplifted several hundred dollars worth of merchandise.

As loss prevention was attempting to contact her in the parking lot, a green, Chevrolet pickup driven by an Asian male, pulled up and the female suspect got into the truck.

As a loss prevention officer was copying down the license plate, the driver accelerated and swerved toward him. He jumped back and the truck was able to strike the loss prevention officer's right hand causing visible injury. The suspects sped away.

The truck comes back registered to an address in Salinas. Officers have located witnesses and are reviewing surveillance video of the incident. BOL placed. Investigation continues.

    SALINAS, Calif- Police are responding to a report of a stabbing that happened on East Alisal Friday afternoon. At this time police have E. Bernal at North Main closed off looking for a possible suspect.
    Police responded to a report of a stabbing that happened on East Alisal Friday afternoon. A witness who saw the stabbing tried to help the victim get to the hospital. He carried the suspect to the car and sped towards the hospital, said police.
