Car Jacking Turns into Kidnapping in Salinas

SALINAS, Calif. - A 20-year-old man was sitting in his Nissan Sentra today in the parking lot of Burger King on Sanborn Rd. when a man came up him, pointed a rifle at him, and, in spanish, ordered him to the passenger side of the suspect's vehicle.

The suspect drove off with the supect after hitting him in the face with the butt of the rifle.

The suspects dropped the victim off at the corner of John St. and Sanborn Rd.

The victim suffered a minor injury to his face. The victim walked back to the Burger King and borrowed a phone to call police.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 20's, 5'3, 140, black hoodie, and jeans, with a black hat.

Officers attempted to locate witnesses and found a person who saw a male matching that description, try to open a car door to a vehicle that was stopped in the drive thru of the Burger King just prior to this incident.

The vehicle sped off  leaving the male standing there. 

That incident was never reported by a victim.
