Lengthy Investigation Ends in Sexual Assault Arrest

Posted: Updated:

WATSONVILLE, Calif. -- Watsonville Police arrested a 28 year old man after a three year sexual assault investigation.

Detectives said Jose Navarro was responsible for more than 20 sexual assault cases around Watsonville. The victims, according to the investigation, are all under the age of 18.

Police said they got a break in the case after the suspect struck again in October outside of La Princesa Market and it was caught on surveillance cameras.

Investigators served a search warrant on Navarro's home and found evidence associated with past sexual assaults.

Navarro was booked at the Santa Cruz County Jail on $155,000 bail.
