SALINAS, Calif. - Salinas Police are releasing information about an armed robbery attempt at the Costco Warehouse store on Davis Road, that happened Monday afternoon.
According to police, the employee who witnessed the incident did not initially notify store management of what had happened. The investigation revealed that at approximately 3:45 p.m. the suspect entered the service area to the tire shop on the south side of the business. The suspect was wearing a floppy hat, a respirator type mask on his face similar to what pest control sprayers wear, a black hoodie, jeans and black gloves.
The suspect appeared to be trying to enter the main store from the tire shop, but was not able to get inside, since there's no entry.
The suspect turned around and brandished a gun towards the employee at the tire shop and exited the business. Nothing was taken.
Surveillance video in being examined in an attempt to identify the lone suspect.
