MORGAN HILL, Calif. -- Sheriff's investigators identified 49-year old Richard Rodriguez Jr. of Alameda as the third suspect in a Morgan Kill kidnapping and assault case.
Deputies said Rodriguez Jr. has ties to the Santa Clara County area. Investigators have a $250,000 warrant out for his arrest. Investigators said Rodriguez is wanted for assault with a deadly weapon and false imprisonment.
On December 3rd Santa Clara County Sheriff's deputies arrested 33-year old Chanelle Troedson of Morgan Hill and 36-year old Jason DeJesus from Morgan Hill. Deputies said a 50-year old handyman from San Jose was kidnapped and assaulted by the suspects. Officers said the suspects claimed the man needed to provide handyman services to a relative that they claim were never finished.
Deputies said the suspects arrived at the victim's home on Caldwell Court. Deputies said they assaulted the 50-year old man and threatened his life for several hours. Officers said they also forced the victim to perform handy work for them. Officers said the suspects forced the victim into a truck to go to another location. On the way they stopped to get gas and snacks. Deputies said the suspects told the victim to wait in the car while they went inside the gas station near Santa Teresa Boulevard and Cottle Road in San Jose. Officers said the victim escaped to a nearby home and called police. When deputies arrived they took Troedson and DeJesus into custody.
The suspects face charges of false imprisonment, kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats, and conspiracy.
