WASHINGTON D.C. - President Obama is expected to give a briefing at the White House at 8:45 PT this morning about his plans to tackle gun control. The president will ask VP Joe Biden to take the reigns in the entire administrations effort to stop the violence.

Biden is a long time gun control advocate. Obama is not expected to give specific details about his plan, but has promised to do whatever it takes to protect the nation's children after Friday's tragedy in Connecticut.
