SALINAS, Calif. -- The Health Department said Taylor Farms issued a precautionary recall of 110 cases of the Hearts of Romaine 10 oz. bag. A random bag was tested by the Food and Drug Administration, which said the salad tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes.

The Monterey County Health Department said no illnesses have been reported from the salad product.

The Hearts of Romaine 10 oz bag packaging code is TFRS332A09 and the UPC number is 0 30223 04032 3 and the expiration date is 12-13-12. The Health Department said no other Taylor Farm products are being recalled.

Symptoms include high fever, neck stiffness and nausea. People more prone to getting sick are young children, pregnant women, the elderly and anyone with a compromised immune system. Listeriosis can also cause stillbirths and miscarriages.

Anyone who has purchased the item should not eat it and throw it away. Customers can call Taylor Farms Retail at 866-508-7048 for more information. If anyone is sick from eating the salad, the Health Department recommends contacting your doctor.
