SALINAS, Calif. -- Police identified two suspects possibly involved in a stabbing that left two men in serious condition.

Investigators said two victims were stabbed on Sunday just after 3:00 a.m. on the 200 block of Katherine Street. Officers said the victims were involved in an altercation with several other people, possibly a gang fight.

Salinas police said family members took both victims to the hospital for stab wounds in the upper torso area. The condition of the victims was serious but not life threatening.

Investigators were able to identify two suspects who fled the scene of the stabbing. Police say 24-year old Francisco Thomas Perez and 26-year old Joe Hernandez Navarrette Jr. are wanted for attempted homicide.

Perez is described as a Hispanic man with black hair, brown eyes, and is about 5'6'' and weighs about 145 lbs. Navarrette Jr. is described as a Hispanic male with black hair and brown eyes who is about 5' 9' and weighs about 210 lbs.
