SALINAS, Calif.-- Just after 6 Saturday night, Salinas Police say a 24-year-old man was walking in the first block of N. Madeira Ave. when was approached by two males wearing all black clothing.
One of the subjects reportedly waved a handgun and told the victim to give him all his money. The second suspect then went through the victim's pockets and removed a small amount of cash. The two suspects fled in a white Acura with tinted windows.
The victim described the suspect with the handgun as a Hispanic male in his 20s, 5'6" tall, and 150 lbs. The second suspect had a similar description. There is no further information at this time.
Less than an hour later, at 6:46 p.m., Salinas Police say another armed robbery occurred at Cesar Chavez Park.
A 45-year-old man says he was walking in the area of the park when he was approached by three males. One of the suspects pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded he give him the contents of his messenger bag. The victim handed over personel effects valued at a small amount of money.
The first suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 5'8" tall, 130 lbs. He wore a black sweatshirt. There was no further information on the other two suspects.
