SALINAS, Calif. -- A new twist in the homicide investigation of a Salinas woman who has been reported missing since Thanksgiving Day.
Investigators say they cannot find the mother of 37-year old Rafael Carballo, the suspect accused of murdering 35-year old Leticia Morales-Soto.
Family of the missing woman has told Central Coast News that the woman's name is Blanca but Salinas Police have yet to release details on her disappearance.
Police believe Carballo could have gone south of the border and have issued a warrant for his arrest.
Border Patrol is aware that Rafael Carballo and his mother are missing.
Investigators say they do not know if the mother's disappearance is connected with this case but are actively trying to find her.
