KING CITY, Calif.- Authorities arrest several suspects Tuesday in San Luis Obispo County believed to be connected to robberies in Santa Clara and Monterey Counties.
King City police responded to an armed robbery at
the AM/PM gas Station at 1302 Broadway St,. Tuesday morning, where a single gunman had entered the store, held
the clerk at gunpoint and demanded cash from the register.
Police said cameras
in the area captured images of the suspect and the suspect vehicle as it fled
the scene. The suspect and vehicle
descriptions were broadcast via radio to surrounding units. CHP
officers later located the suspect vehicle and detained the four occupants in
San Luis Obispo County.
One of the
suspects was positively identified as the suspect in the King City robbery. Evidence located in the suspect vehicle
linked the four suspects to additional robberies in the Gilroy and Morgan Hill
area.
CHP,
Monterey County Sheriff's Office, King City Police Department, Gilroy Police Department and Morgan Hill Police Department worked in
cooperation to investigate the local robberies.
Three
adult males and one 17-year-old juvenile male were later booked into the
Monterey County Jail and Monterey County Juvenile Hall on charges of robbery
and criminal conspiracy. The suspects
were all from the bay area.
