HOLLISTER, Calif. -- The first thing San Benito High parents who rushed to the school after hearing news of a lock down saw, were streets blocked by law enforcement and a girl being brought out on a stretcher.
The girl was so distraught about the bomb threat she had a break down and needed medical help. Police said the girl is going to be okay.
"I was freaking out, freaking out. Because you hear of all the school shootings," said Theresa Serria.
Serria left work to join the crowds of parents desperately wanting answers on what was going on inside the school.
"I just kind of want to have my kids with me. Just to reassure myself," sad Serria, as she waited for deputies to clear the school.
Superintendent Dr. Stan Rose spoke to a group of parents this morning, who were waiting in front of the school and reassured them everything was fine.
San Benito High School got the call about a bomb on campus at 9:30 Tuesday morning and immediately went on lock down.
"We checked all areas of the school and determined there was nothing we could locate that was suspicious," said Chief Dave Westrick.
Students, Central Coast News spoke to said, when the lock down happened they were either told to get under their desks or hide behind a chalkboard.
"Our protocol worked," said Superintendent Rose.
Its a protocol the school did twice this week. Police are still investigating whether the two calls are connected.
Deputies said only one school was under lock down. Police are still investigating the incident, anyone with information is asked to call 636-4330.
