SOLEDAD, Calif. -- Official state prison documents leaked to Central Coast News show more on the investigation into how a central coast nursing director worked the system and signed off on inmate patient drugs that disappeared.
It's a Center for Investigative Action follow-up into a state-wide investigation into nurses at the Correctional Training Facility in Soledad.
It's new information on Angelia Britt, director of nursing, who is accused of falsifying drug records and timesheets.
One of our sources leaked the documents with patient inmate names redacted to protect their identity.
They come from inside CTF surrounding the investigation into Britt.
For the first time, we're looking at a Controlled Drug Administration Record sheet Britt is accused of recreating in order to cover up patient drugs that went missing.
The complaint alleges on Dec. 8 of 2010, Tylenol with codeine was given to a patient who wasn't even housed at CTF.
On the patient's medical history, there's no record of him being prescribed the drug at that time.
Still, he was supposedly given the medicine, signed off by Britt.
The same applies for at least several other patients, according to documents.
On Dec. 7 of 2010, documents not only show there weren't any medications on file for another inmate during the time period, but it said he paroled the year before and didn't return until the year after.
The employee who filed the complaints alleged the false entries were used to account for a missing narcotics control sheet and Britt signed off on all of the entries.
The drug administration sheet was only one that Central Coast News went through; there are several others that have drugs that were not resolved, or accounted for.
The State Attorney General's office is investigating Britt for 1,200 drug losses that were never reported.
On Monday, the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation once again declined to comment to Central Coast News because this is a personnel matter.
Central Coast News also tried reaching out to Britt, who is still working at CTF, and hasn't been able to get a response back from her.
