SOQUEL, Calif. -- A woman wanted by authorities since November was shot by officers Sunday near her home.
According to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Department, patrol deputies went to Amanda Sloan's home near Nicasio Way. Deputies say as they arrived, Sloan fired a handgun from the residence. According to the report, she then came out of her home and pointed the gun at herself and at the officers in a threatening manner.
When she didn't comply with their commands, one deputy shot Sloan in the leg. She was then taken into custody and remains in stable condition.
The arrest comes after Capitola police tried to pull over Amanda Sloan back in November. Capitola police had said she sped off and took them on a pursuit. Then, around Old San Jose Road, she reportedly pulled out a gun and fired at police.
Sloan is currently in custody.
