A Flood Advisory for Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito is in place until 11:30 a.m. Rainfall totals could exceed 6 inches at the coast with over a foot possible in the mountains.
Excess runoff from heavy rainfall is expected to cause ponding of water in urban areas, highways, and streets. Be careful when you are driving in poor drainage areas and low lying spots.
There is a Flash Flood warning for Big Sur Village, they are getting rainfall an inch per hour.
A high surf advisory is in effect through Saturday morning for waves 14-16ft with strong rip currents and a wind advisory 35-50 MPH with gusts 60-70 MPH. Rain will continue through the weekend with highs in the low to mid 60's.
The cold front will move south and weaken on Friday night with a break in the action, but still some showers on Saturday. Another weather system moves into the San Francisco Bay Area on Saturday afternoon and Saturday night. Then it will move south to the Central Coast on Sunday. Gusty winds and locally heavy rain will accompany this weather system as it move through the Central Coast with possible flooding of roadways and small streams.
There will still be a few lingering showers on Monday, but skies will clear and temperatures will be on the rise.
