The California Lottery Commission Approves Powerball Game

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- On Thursday five members of the California Lottery Commission unanimously voted to adopt the mega-jackpot lottery game, POWERBALL.

The game is shared between 42 other states. The Lottery Commission said customers made it very clear that they wanted the game to come to California.

Sales will start in California on April 8th 2013. The first draw will be on April 10th 2013. The Lottery Commission said they expect POWERBALL to bring in $50-$100 million to public schools.

POWERBALL draws are done in Tallahassee, Florida.
