GILROY, Calif. -- Police are on the hunt for whoever was involved in what investigators are calling a gang-motivated drive-by shooting Wednesday morning.
It happened on the 6900 block of Glenview Drive, just after midnight. Officers say they received reports of multiple gunshots heard in the area.
Once on scene, police determined unknown suspects had discharged an unknown type of firearm. Police say the suspect(s) shot at an unknwon vehicle parked on the roadway and fired at least one round into an occupied residence. Gilroy Police say there were eight people inside the residence at the time, but the victims' names are being withheld. The victims range in age from four months old to 46 years old.
Based on victim and witness statements, police believe the shooting was gang-motivated. They say shortly after the shooting, an early 1990s red Honda Civic hatchback was seen leaving the area southbound on Glenview Drive. Police say they believe this vehicle was associated with the shooting.
This is an ongoing investigation, and anyone with any information is urged to call Gilroy Police.
