Brothers Accused of Beating Homeless Man Plead Not Guilty

SALINAS- Two brothers accused of brutally beating a homeless man outside their Salinas restaurant pleaded not guilty in court today.

43-year-old Robert DeLeon and his brother, 32-year-old James DeLeon, face charges of attempted murder and assault for beating a homeless man near their restaurant, XL Grindhouse.

The 55-year-old transient, who goes by Ramon, fell into a coma after the beating. He has since woke up and was able to identify his attackers.

A preliminary hearing is tentatively set for December 21st.

Bail is set at $880,000 for Robert DeLeon and $530,000 for James DeLeon.
