Two Separate Shootings in Hollister

Posted: Updated:

HOLLISTER, Calif.- Hollister police are investigating two separate shootings that occurred in Hollister over the last three days. In both incidents, no victims or suspects were located. Police are asking for the public's help to identify the suspects in these cases.

On Monday night, at about 10:00 p.m., The Hollister Police Department responded to shots fired on the 700 block of Nash Road. Patrolling officers had been in that area and heard several shots. As the officers began responding to that general area, reports came in from multiple area residents advising of the gunshots being heard.

Officers located three shell casings that had been recently fired on the roadway. There were no injuries reported at area hospitals and no damage to nearby property.

No eyewitnesses to the shooting were located. The people who had called to report the incident described the sound of a vehicle, possible an Import, that sped away from the scene. The vehicle is described as having a modified exhaust system.

On Saturday, Nov. 24th, at about 4:00 pm, police responded to a call of shots fired on Felice Drive. Witnesses reported two Hispanic males walking on Felice Drive when they got into an argument with someone in a passing white van. One of the two males then produced a handgun and opened fire on the van. One of the bullets apparently shattered one of the windows. The van then reportedly drove northbound on Felice Drive before turning around and coming back. The two males ran to a nearby home where they both jumped the fence and fled the area. The white van also fled the area westbound on San Juan Road.

The two suspects were described as 15 to 25 years of age. One was wearing a black shirt with the number 18 on the back, shorts, a black baseball hat and was about 5'6" tall. The second suspect was about 5'4", also wearing a black baseball hat, blue jeans and a black jersey with the number 23 in red.

The Hollister Police Department is still investigating these two incidents but it needs help from witnesses who may know who fired the weapons.

Anyone with information regarding these cases is asked to contact Officer Rudy Rodriguez at 636-4331. Persons wishing to remain anonymous may call WeTIP at (800) 78-CRIME. Information provided to WeTip may result in an award of up to $1,000.
