SALINAS, Calif. -- Firefighters have put out a fire that started in an apartment complex in Salinas.
The Salinas Fire Department said the fire happened along the 1200 block of Cherokee Drive. No one was inside the apartment where the fire started.
Police and firefighters said the fire started around 9:30 a.m. Witnesses said lots of smoke was pouring out of the building.
