Monterey, Calif.- An early Saturday morning blaze on the 800 block of Sloat Avenue in Monterey displaced a family after their home was destroyed.
According to the Monterey Fire Department, they responded around 7 a-m to the home completely on fire. The occupants of the home were outside on the sidewalk with burns and other health concerns. Fire fighters were able to contain the fire to just the one home. No word yet on the cause of the fire. The family suffered smoke inhalation and burn injuries. One was flown to San Jose, while another went to community hospital.
