SALINAS, Calif.- Two restaurant owners, wanted for the brutal beating of a homeless man in October, were arrested by Salinas police officers Wednesday.
On October 13th, police said a concerned citizen reported to police a victim had been beaten two days earlier. The citizen said the 55-year-old transient was injured. When an officer arrived, he noticed the victim was seriously hurt and called for medical personnel. The victim was able to tell the officer where he was beaten near the area of the XL Grindhouse Restaurant two days prior. The victim had noticeable injuries to his face and head. He was transported to a local hospital where his health quickly deteriorated and he fell into a coma. He is currently still recovering in the bay area.
Salinas Police detectives identified two suspects, Robert DeLeon, 43, and James DeLeon, 32, owners of the XL Grindhouse Restaurant, as being responsible for beating the victim.
