Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr. Resigns

WASHINGTON, D. C. - Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr. submitted his resignation to House Speaker Boehner today. Jackson just won re-election in Illinois a few weeks ago. 

Jackson is going through several struggles right now. His health has been in decline, and he was recently in treatment for bi-polar disorder. 

Jackson is also being investigated by the FBI for allegedly misusing campaign funds. He is in negotiations now with the government to reach a deal, that could include some jail time. 

Jackson has served in Congress for 17 years.
