SALINAS, Calif. -- A pizza delivery man was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday night in Salinas, according to police.
It happened as the delivery man was returning to the Domino's on North Main Street after making several deliveries. That's when, police say, the suspect approached the victim and struck him on the forehead with the butt of a handgun. The suspect then demanded all the money from the driver.
According to police, the victim complied and handed over an undisclosed amount of cash. Then suspect then fled on foot, traveling northbound on North Main Street.
Police say the suspect was of unknown race and in his 20s. They say he was about 5'10" with a slender build, and he was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, white t-shirt, blue jeans and white shoes. Police say the suspect was also seen hanging around in the parking lot some time before the robbery.
