Kids Caught Cutting School and Sticking Dead Animals in Elkhorn Mailboxes

Posted: Updated:

NEAR CASTROVILLE, Calif- A gruesome discovery was made by Sheriff's Deputies on Thursday.

Officials were called out to the 2000 block of Elkhorn Road near Castroville around noontime when two juveniles were discovered out of school.

But the students weren't only playing hookie.

The students were caught red-handed, placing dead animals into mailboxes lining up the sides of the road.

Deputies did not tell us what kinds of animals were found but did say the juveniles were cited and returned back to school.

It is still being investigated whether or not the children killed the animals themselves or found the animals already deceased.

If it is determined that the students killed the animals themselves, the juveniles could face animal cruelty charges.
