Man Drives Off 17 Mile Drive, Crashes into Rocks

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. - A man suffered moderate injuries Thursday night after crashing off 17 Mile Drive in Pebble Beach. It happened shortly before 7:20 p.m. in the area of 17 Mile Drive and Point Joe.

Pebble Beach Fire/CAL FIRE responded, along with Cypress Fire Protection District.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a single vehicle on its roof, about 30 feet off the roadway. The sole occupant of the vehicle was extricated by firefighters. Firefighters provided medical care before transferring the patient to an ambulance crew.

An air ambulance reportedly could not land in the area because of poor weather conditions.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by CHP.
