HOLLISTER, Calif. -- Fire crews investigated the cause of a fire at a medical complex at Memorial and Sunnyslope in Hollister early this morning.
Fire officials told Central Coast News that the fire broke out around 2:45 Wednesday morning and quickly spread to two doctors' offices.
Crews arrived on the scene within minutes and called for backup. Due to the buildings being doctors' offices, San Juan Bautista, San Benito County, and Hollister Fire volunteers and off duty firefighters responded.
Fire crews took extra precautions because oxygen and other explosive materials may have been inside the building to help spread the fire.
Central Coast News spoke with a nursing supervisor at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital who says that they are not being evacuated. However, the emergency room is being told to expect more patients, if needed.
The initial location has been declared a total loss and fire crews are still on the scene investigating and putting out any flames that may come up.
No injuries, civilians or firefighters, were reported.
