Hartnell College Prepares to Expand Technical Education Programs

SALINAS, Calif. - Calling all tech students, Hartnell College is expanding! The community college is celebrating the growth of its career technical education programs with a groundbreaking ceremony for the Technical Training Building at the Alisal Campus on Thursday (November 15th) from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

This is the second major building project at the Center for Advanced Technology, which opened last year.

The Technical Training Building will be a 16,500-square-foot facility.  It will also be LEED certified and will offer the latest in technology for high quality instruction. The building will house the automotive technology, heavy duty diesel technology, and sustainable construction programs.

Majors currently offered at the Center for Advanced Technology include agricultural business and production, food safety, agricultural and industrial technology, welding, sustainable design and construction, automotive technology, including heavy duty diesel technology, and computer science, along with general education classes that support those majors.
