It may sound like the Civil War, but it's happening right now, in 2012.
Now that President Barack Obama has been re-elected to a second term, the White House petition website has been overwhelmed with requests - people from several states want their home state to secede.
People from twenty states have sent in petitions, including Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.
