SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. -- There is a $900,000 arrest warrant for 30-year old Amanda Sloan who is accused of shooting at an officer who tried to pull her over Sunday night.

Sloan is wanted for attempted murder of a police officer, assault with a firearm on a police officer and failing to yield.

Capitola Police say it happened Sunday night around 10:30 near 1840 41st Avenue in Capitola. An officer pulled her over for several traffic violations. When they reached the vehicle, police say Sloan started screaming and then sped off. Officers chased her through 41st Avenue, to State Route 1, to the Bay/ Porter Exit through Old San Jose Road. Police said Sloan was reaching speeds up to 80 miles per hour.

When the pursuit came near Soquel High School, officers said the woman reached out of her sunroof and shot at one of the officers. The bullet did not hit the officer or the patrol car.

The silver BMW Sloan was driving was found Monday morning along Jarvis Road in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The car was not registered to Sloan. Police say she is still at large, and could be armed and dangerous. If you see her, call police.
