MONTEREY, Calif. - Construction of the Monterey Salinas Transit Bus Rapid Transit Project has hit a road bump. The specific project is near the intersection of Lighthouse and Reeside, where crews encountered an unexpected problem underground, halting construction for a week.
Several underground utility lines were found in an area designed for proposed storm drain pipes.
The MST Project Engineer is preparing plan revisions to re-route the storm drain pipe around the utility lines to ensure proper drainage.
The engineering solution is expected to be completed early next week and work will restart immediately thereafter.
