MONTEREY, Calif. -- Parents can get emergency email alerts to their cell phones using a new app.
The Monterey Peninsula Unified School District has the directions on how to get the app on their site. In cases of a lockdown or school emergency, parents who sign up for ParentLink will get notifications of a incident immediately on their smartphone.
The school also sends out automatic phone messages, and emails to parents when something comes up.
