SALINAS, Calif. -- On a normal day, the lobby at Quality Dry Cleaners has customers, and their drive thru has cars.
"We are noticing that lately its been kind of slow," said Mariana Santa-Cruz, employee at Quality Dry Cleaners.
The business said that has to do with the fact that the Quality Dry Cleaners are right next to the Nob Hill picket line.
"A lot of our customers here are saying they feel a little threatened," said Santa-Cruz.
Santa-Cruz said customers feel so threatened some aren't coming back until its all over.
There are five other businesses in the same plaza as the Nob Hill in Salinas, and these businesses say since Nob Hill brings in most of their customers, they too are suffering because of the strike.
It's the honking, the chants, and the workers themselves that is scaring people away. "They kind of climbed on top of a car, its been crazy out there," said Santa-Cruz.
Yesterday, emergency crews were called to the parking lot after a woman claimed someone hit her with their car, but witnesses said she stepped in their way.
Today, customers who crossed the picket lines said it's a hard position to be in because they know these workers, its their neighborhood store.
The worst part, it could cause a ripple effect for nearby employees.
"We need our business because its going to affect us, we're going to get more hours cut, we already got hours cut," said Santa-Cruz.
