AROMAS, Calif. -- California Highway Patrol and Monterey County Sheriff's are involved in a standoff Thursday evening, with a woman barricaded in her home with loaded weapons.

The Monterey County Sheriff's Deputies, CHP and SWAT team are on scene at Bardue Street negotiating with the woman, who identifies herself as Jacqueline Woodward.  Authorities on scene haven't confirm her full name with Central Coast News, only saying her name is Jackie.  Everyone living on the block in the neighborhood has been evacuated from their homes.

Red Cross is on the scene, and they have set up cots at the Aromas School gym for those who were not able to get back into their homes when the standoff began. About 30 to 40 beds have been set up, and Red Cross will be providing food and blankets.

CHP says the woman made threats to her husband, and Deputies got the call around 12:30 p.m.

The suspect's friend Nakia Hardy told Central Coast News, "she's very smart and reasonable young lady, and I can't see that there's any harm that's come to her, for her to react this way."

Aromas School, located near the crime scene, went on lockdown at 12:50 p.m.  The San Juan Unified School District said students at Aromas School were released one by one to their parents. The rest of the students were put on a bus and driven home.

It's a very active scene, deputies have their guns drawn outside the home. CHP has been helping control traffic in the area.
