Truck Stolen From Hertz Rental in Salinas, Police Say

SALINAS, Calif. -- A Hertz Rental Car store was burglarized and a truck was stolen Wednesday night, according to Salinas Police.

It happened at on Abbott Street just before 9pm. Police say they received a call from the alarm company for Hertz Rentals regarding a burglary. When Officers arrived on scene, they say they found the damaged metal gate to the entrance in the roadway of Abbott Street. Police also say there was extensive damage to the metal roll-up doors.

During the investigation, police say they discovered a 2012 Ford F-550 utility truck missing. The vehicle is values at $150,000, complete with an air compressor, welder and crane.

Police say the truck was used to ram through the security gate for the unknown suspect's escape.

The truck has a California license plate of 04288C1, and is still missing. Police say it should have front end damage. They're urging anyone with information on the suspect or the vehicle to call Salinas Police at 831-758-7090.
