Suspicious Device Calls out San Jose Bomb Squad - Central Coast News KION/KCBA

SAN JOSE, Calif.- The San Jose Police Department is currently investigating a suspicious device Wednesday that was located in a car that officers stopped at North First Street and Matrix.

The Department's Special Operations MERGE Unit initiated the stop for a vehicle violation at 8:48 PM and eventually conducted a search of the vehicle. During the search, officers located a suspicious device and contacted the Bomb Unit. The Bomb Unit came to the scene to render the device safe.

Traffic was shut down in the area while the Bomb Unit worked for several hours. No information is being released about the adult male driver due to the fact that it is part of an on-going investigation.
