Nate Silver is an elections prognosticator who predicted that President Obama would win re-election. he writes for the New York Times, and his predictions are based on several mathematical theories.

Based on his predictions, he appears to have correctly picked which states would swing toward Obama, and which to Romney.

And according to CNN Money, his book sales on Amazon have soared by 850%.
