SALINAS, Calif. -- Salinas police say they arrested 23-year old Andres Montiel for past tense sexual abuse of a child.
It happened at the 1100 block of Del Monte Avenue. Officers say the female victim told her mom that her step father has been molesting her for several months.
Through the investigation, officers were able to confirm that those incidents did happen. Andres Montiel was arrested and taken to the Monterey County Jail and was booked under multiple counts of child abuse on a child.
Bail for Montiel was increased to $400,000.
Police are still investigating the case.
