SALINAS, Calif- Firefighters are advising the public not to be alarmed if they see a large cloud of smoke on the eastside of Salinas.

CAL FIRE Crews are conducting a controlled burn to reduce the amount of 'fire fuel' in the eastern mountains.

Salinas Fire Department officials say they have received several calls from residents but stress that there is no need to be concerned.
