One Person Shot on John Street in Salinas

SALINAS, Calif. -- A 25-year old man is recovering from gunshot wounds after a shooting in Sainas Monday afternoon, according to Salians Police.

It happened just after 3:00 p.m. on the 1000 block of John street. Police say the victim was standing in a parking lot when the suspect approached from behind and started shooting.

Police say the victim was struck in the buttocks and lower back, and suffered non-life threatening injuries. At this time, there is no suspect information.

The incident is being investigated as gang-related. Anyone who may have been a witness to the shooting is encouraged to call the Salinas Police Department at 831-758-7090.
