SALINAS, Calif. -- Two women at home were caught off guard when two men entered their house through the back door. One armed suspect forced the women to the floor while the suspects took items from the home.

Salinas police say it happened Saturday around 9:00 p.m. at the 300 block of Noice Drive. The two female victims, 19 and 36 rent a room at the home. One of the suspects was armed with an ice pick and forced both victims to lay on the floor while the other suspect was taking items out of the house. Once the men left one of the victims called police.

One of the suspects is described as a 27 year old man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt carrying a 10'' ice pick. Police do not have a description of the second suspect. They were able to recover some stolen property that was left behind on the sidewalk. The suspects have not been located.

Police say two other bungalows near the home were also burglarized by the same suspects.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call police at 758-7321 or 775-4222 to remain anonymously.
