SALINAS, Calif. -- Salinas police say the victim hired the prostitute for illicit services. Once at the hotel, the prostitute called someone on her phone who came by and beat up the victim and took all his money.
Police say it happened on Saturday around 8:00 a.m. at the Motel 6 on Kern Street. The victim and the prostitute planned to meet at the motel. Shortly after the phone call was made a very tall man showed up, attacked the victim and punched him several times in the face. The man is described as Asian, around 6ft 2, thin and around 30 years old.
The two suspects fled the scene, when police arrived the hotel room was empty. The victim's wallet was also emptied. Police say several hundred dollars of cash was in the wallet.
The prostitute is described as a 30-year old black female with red hair. The room that was rented was registered to a man with an address in Fresno. The car listed with the room is described as a 1999 burgundy Saturn with a California license plat of 4XJJ291, registered out of Fresno.
Police are still investigating the attack.
