PG&E Sending More Crews to Restore Power Following Hurricane - Central Coast News KION/KCBA

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) is sending an additional 100 employees and equipment to New York to help restore power in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

Friday's announcement brings the total number of PG&E employees supporting the restoration efforts to more than 250. The employees leaving Friday and Saturday morning will                     support the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) and National Grid in New York.

Additional equipment is being sent to New York from PG&E's Davis Yard. 

PG&E is sending overhead and underground maintenance and construction crews, electric first responders who determine the cause of an outage and how best to restore power, and damage assessment personnel. The utility will also send logistics support and field safety personnel.
